1. Who We Are
Mancino Law operates the websites https://www.mancinolaw.com and https://mancinolaw.com (collectively, the “Sites”). This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your information when you visit or interact with our Sites.
2. Information We Collect
A. Comments and User-Generated Content
When visitors leave comments on our Sites, we collect the data provided in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string for spam detection.
An anonymized string (hash) created from your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to check if you use it. The Gravatar service’s privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. After comment approval, your profile picture becomes publicly visible in the context of your comment.
B. Media Uploads
If you upload images to our Sites, avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract location data from images.
C. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Cookies are used to enhance your experience on our Sites.
- If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to saving your name, email, and website in cookies for convenience. These last for one year.
- If you visit our login page, a temporary cookie will determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded upon closing your browser.
- Upon logging in, we set cookies to store your login details and screen preferences. Login cookies last two days, while screen option cookies last a year. Selecting “Remember Me” extends login persistence to two weeks. Logging out removes login cookies.
- If you edit or publish an article, a cookie (without personal data) will store the article’s post ID and expire in one day.
D. Embedded Content from Other Websites
Articles on these Sites may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content behaves the same way as if you visited the third-party website directly.
These third-party websites may collect data, use cookies, track interactions, and monitor engagement, especially if you have an account with and are logged into the third-party site. Mancino Law does not control third-party privacy practices and recommends reviewing their respective privacy policies.
E. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services
- If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
- Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
F. How Long We Retain Your Data
- Comments and metadata are retained indefinitely to recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically.
- For registered users, personal information in their profile is stored indefinitely. Users can view, edit, or delete their personal data (except username). Website administrators can also manage user data.
G. Your Rights Over Your Data
If you have an account on these Sites or have left comments, you can request an exported file of your personal data. You may also request that we erase personal data, except for data required for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
H. Data Protection and Security
Mancino Law implements reasonable security measures to protect your information. However, no transmission method over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
I. Jurisdiction
By using these Sites, you consent to data collection, processing, and storage under the laws of the State of Ohio, Madison County.
J. Changes to this Privacy Policy
Mancino Law reserves the right to update this Privacy Policy. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes via website notifications, email alerts, or other appropriate means. Continued use of our Sites after policy modifications constitutes acceptance of the changes.
